First 2 days of your 10 days in Thailand you will be exploring Bangkok.
There are two international airports in Bangkok: Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (new Bangkok’s airport) and Don Muang Airport (old Bangkok’s airport). Most likely you will fly to Bangkok’s main international airport Suvarnabhumi (BKK – Suvarnabhumi).
In each case, it’s easy to get to the city center and it’s not expensive. A taxi ride from Bangkok’s airport to Bangkok’s center costs about 450 Bahts (15 USD).
Book here a shuttle transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport to your hotel.

After 2 days in sensational Thia capital and on the 3rd day of your vacation in Thailand take a day trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya Historical Park
Day 3: AYUTTHAYA
The ancient city of Ayutthaya was once the capital of the powerful Kingdom of Siam. Awe-inspiring Ayutthya got burned by Burmese in the 18th century. Today magnificent Ayutthaya temples stand as the evidence of the mighty kingdom.
If you are into history and culture, I highly recommend a day trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya.
On your 3rd day in Thailand head to visit Ayutthaya: stroll this impressive UNESCO World Heritage site and marvel at ruins of ancient Buddhist temples, see the famous Ayutthaya Buddha head in a banyan tree, monasteries, and palaces of Ayutthaya.
On your way back to Bangkok enjoy a cruise along the river. Ayutthaya is an island on three rivers and taking this Ayutthaya day trip from Bangkok you can treat yourself with a stunning river cruise back to Bangkok.

Spend the night in Bangkok and early in the morning head to Khao Sok National park.
Day 4-5: KHAO SOK NATIONAL PARK
Getting from Bangkok to Khao Sok: The distance between Bangkok and Khao Sok NP is about 455 mi (730 km). I would recommend flying from Bangkok to Surat Thani Airport, as it is the fastest way to reach it.
Surat Thani Airport is the nearest airport to Khao Sok. A flight lasts about an hour and 15 min and the flights are run daily by Thai Lion Air, Air Asia, Thai Smile, and Nok Air.
From Surat Thani Airport to Khao Sok you need to take a minivan service. Minivan service from Surat Thani Airport to Khao Sok National Park runs regularly several times a day. This journey from Bangkok to Khao Sok takes about 4 and a half hours in total.
You could also fly to Phuket Airport and from Phuket go to Khao Sok. Or you can opt for a 12-hour overnight train from Bangkok’s central train station Hua Lamphong to Surat Thani’s Phun Phin town and from there go to Khao Sok. Or you can take a 10-hours overnight bus from Bangkok to Surat Thani.
Detailed info on how to get to Koh Sok National Park https://www.khaosok.com/transportation-how-to-get-to-khao-sok/
Khao Sok National Park is a place of extraordinary natural beauty and biodiversity covering an area of 740 km2. It’s home to many wild animals like gibbons, tigers, elephants, and many rare bird species. The mix of green rainforest, limestone karsts, and bright emerald Cheow Larn Lake make this park look out of this world. Cheow Larn lake within the park stretches over the 165 km2 area and there are some great floating lodges and luxury tents on the lake you can stay in.
If you are a nature lover like me, you will most definitely fall in love with Khao Sok National Park. Khao Sok National Park is one of my favorite places in Thailand. Please make yourself a favor and visit Khao Sok National Park on your 10 day Thailand trip!
What to do in Khao Sok:
Cruise Chiew Larn Lake on a long tail boat to discover wild animals in their natural habitat, listen to the monkeys’ callings and birds’ singings, kayak or swim in Chiew Larn Lake’s stunning turquoise water, admire wonderful Khao Sam Kler limestone mountain, take a jungle trek to Nam Ta Lu cave to see the impressive limestone formations, bath elephants and experience bamboo rafting in the jungle
On the 6th day head to Ao Nang in Krabi Province.
Day 6-7: AO NANG & KRABI ISLANDS HOPPING
Getting from Khao Sok to Ao Nang: You can arrange with your stay in Khao Sok a transfer to Ao Nang. A taxi ride from Khao Sok to Ao Nang should be about 2.800 Bahts. There is also a minivan service going several times a day from Khao Sok to the Krabi coast for about 350 Bahts per person (11 USD).
Detailed info https://www.krabitransfer.com/
Krabi Province is less touristy and more preserved than Phuket, while Ao Nang bay is one of the most beautiful bays in Thailand with some truly great sites to relax as they are still unspoiled by heavy tourism.
Ao Nang is a small resort town on the Andaman coast less touristy than Krabi Town. It offers all types of accommodation suiting all budgets.
Ao Nang is 20 min from Krabi Town, 15 min from peaceful and cozy Klong Muang Beach, and 2 min from Noppharat Thara Beach. Railay’s beaches (Tonsai, Railay East, Railay West, and Phra Nang) and several small and intimate islands are easily reachable by water taxi in about 30 min from Ao Nang what makes this U-shaped town between the cliffs and sea a great base for exploring the area.
What to do in Ao Nang:
Sail with traditional long-tail Thai boat and tour world-famous Railay Beach, Phranang Beach and Phranag Cave filled with phallic carvings honouring the fertility goddess, white sand beaches of Poda Island, explore the underwater life of Koh Sii Island (one of the best diving spots in the Ao Nang area), have a zip line adventure over the rainforest canopy, feed and bathe rescued elephants at ethically-run Ao Nang Elephant Sanctuary
On the 8th day take a ferry and head from Ao Nang to Koh Phi Phi Islands. The ferry goes from Nopparat Thara Pier in Ao Nang to Tonsai Pier in Koh Phi Phi, and a ride lasts about an hour and a half.
In this Thailand 10 day itinerary, I am suggesting NOT taking a day tour to Koh Phi Phi islands as I want you to escape daily crowds coming to Koh Phi Phi from Phuket and Krabi for an afternoon visit.
One of the worst things you can do in Thailand is to visit Koh Phi Phi islands on a day trip with hordes of tourists.
I want you to experience this paradise island away from day-trippers. In fact, at that time when day-trippers from Phuket and Krabi come to Koh Phi Phi, you will be exploring aqua blue waters, lush mountains, and the magical underwater of Koh Phi Phi Islands.
Day 8-9: KOH PHI PHI ISLANDS
Koh Phi Phi islands consist of two small islands: Koh Phi Phi Don and Koh Phi Phi Leh.
Koh Phi Phi Don is the main island where all accommodations are, while Koh Phi Phi Leh is an uninhabited national park. Famous Maya Bay and Maya Beach where Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie “The Beach” was filmed are on Koh Phi Phi Leh.
Although Koh Phi Phi Don is reputed for all-night beach parties, there are areas where you can enjoy the island in serenity and away from the parties. The area around the main Tonsai Pier in Koh Phi Phi Don is overdeveloped, but if you go further from the main pier in the direction of Viking Beach and Long Beach you can find peaceful and isolated huts and villas.
Remember, Koh Phi Phi Don is not all about the party!
What to do in Koh Phi Phi:
Some of the best things to do in Koh Phi Phi is to take a short hike to Phi Phi Viewpoint to admire the views of this paradise island, enjoy the beaches on Koh Phi Phi Don (Viking Beach, Long Beach, Loh Moo Dee Beach..), rent a kayak and explore the crystal clear turquoise sea, take a scuba diving tour and swim with sea turtles, see the coral gardens, take an island hopping and snorkeling tour to visit Monkey Beach, Shark Point, and Runtee Bay, Bamboo Island, Mosquito Island, the turquoise lagoon of Phi Leh, famous Viking Cave, and see Maya Bay.
Although Maya Beach is closed for the public until 2021, still you can admire haven-like Maya Bay from the boat. However, boats are not allowed to anchor in Maya Bay.
Day 10: BANGKOK – fly back home
On the last day of your 10-day tour of Thailand, you are leaving Koh Phi Phi and heading to Krabi Airport to take a flight to Bangkok and to fly back home.
At 10.30 pm you can take a ferry from Koh Phi Phi’s Ton Sai pier and in an hour you will reach Krabi’s Klong pier. From there a minivan service regularly run to Krabi International Airport. The ride from Krabi pier to Krabi Airport takes about an hour max.
A flight from Krabi airport to Bangkok airport takes an hour and a half and one-way ticket averages 2.500 Thai Bahts (83 USD). Daily flights are run by Air Asia, Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, and Nok Air.
Please, just keep in mind that there are two airports in Bangkok: Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Muang Airport.
Air Asia, Thai Lion Air, and Nok Air fly from Krabi International Airport to Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport, while Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways fly to Suvarnabhumi Airport. The distance between Don Muang Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 45 km, but they are well-connected by shuttle buses. Again, please take care of which airport you are flying to off Thailand!
